It’s with honor I share with you Dr. Ashley Tucker’s recent accomplishment in completing her Fellowship of the Scleral Lens Education Society. This is simply the most recent accolade, but Dr. Tucker has consistently sought to learn and grow to better serve her patients for years. After completing optometry school, she extended her formal education with a Residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses before joining our clinic in 2011. The following year, she completed her first fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry, the premier scientific and educational branch of our profession. Since 2011, Dr. Tucker has been a part-time clinical faculty member with the University of Houston, College of Optometry and is currently teaching the lab in ophthalmic optics to first year students. Her newest fellowship with the Scleral Lens Education Society highlights her expertise and professional care in helping patients experience much improved vision through specialty scleral lenses, where previously they may have suffered significantly from diseased or irregular corneas. In addition, somehow she found time to study extensively with Dr. Bob Sanet in San Diego over multiple weekends to expand her knowledge and care of patients who might benefit from vision therapy and/or the prescribing of glasses to improve the function of their eyes.
So Dr. Tucker, we thank you for your commitment to learning and excellence and for being a truly wonderful part of our office.
